Day to Day Care and Cleaning

Cleaning and care of your coloured stone sinkware is easy and uncomplicated. A little water, a sponge and some washing-up liquid is all you need to remove minor stains, greasy marks and the usual signs of wear. After every use - simply rinse and wipe the sink dry with a clean, soft cloth to eliminate any water spots or soap film build-up.

Stains and Minor Scuff Marks

To remove stains and minor scuff marks - simply use some washing up liquid with a soft nylon scouring pad. A solution of 50% bleach, 50% water may be used for stubborn stains only. Let the solution sit in the bottom of the sink for 30 mins, then scrub lightly with a sponge. Rinse well. (Note: Dark coloured sinks must be rinsed thoroughly with hot water.)

Lime Scale or Calcium Deposits

Lime scale is the deposits left behind by hard water. It is the chalky white deposits that stick to and build up on any surface that comes into contact with the hard water. These can be carefully treated by using warm vinegar. Soak the area for 20mins by misting on with a spray bottle, rinse well with water and finish off with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. You may need to reapply for more stubborn deposits.

Caution

Do not use;

  • Any abrasive cleaning agents or scrub pads such as steel wool.
  • Any concentrated form of Bleach or Hydrochloride base products.
  • Any commercial alkalis, such as ammonia and or caustic solutions.
  • Any drain blocking chemicals that involve filling the sink with water.
  • The sink for cleaning paint or grout materials.
  • Anything highly corrosive.
  • Anything hot enough on the surface that may cause thermal shock discolouration or damage, this could include pots from a stove top or oven. Always use a heat mat.

Installation

It is a requirement that all undermounted sinks be installed by a professional or qualified benchtop manufacturer. Failure to do this will void the warranty. All templates are supplied only as a guide. The physical use of the sink will ensure a more accurate cut-out. For information on installation instructions for solid surface, granite, marble, stone or engineered countertop surfaces, contact your fabricator or benchtop manufacturer.
